Most of Hugo's housing stock went up from the late 1990s through the 2010s, which means most Hugo kitchens start from the same place: solid builder-grade cabinets and a floor plan that was designed to be efficient to build, not necessarily to cook and live in. That's a different project than remodeling a kitchen in an older lake-town home — it's less about correcting a dated layout from decades ago, and more about upgrading finishes, opening up the kitchen to the adjoining living space where the framing allows it, and making the room match how the rest of a newer home already looks and feels. Since Hugo has also grown quickly on larger lots and acreage properties toward its northern and eastern edges, we also do more custom, larger-format kitchen layouts here than in some of our other service areas.
